Sui due rifugi SAT alla Bocca di Brenta

Da non perdere l'articolo di Riccardo Decarli sul bollettino della SAT 4/2011 che ricostruisce, con documentazione inedita, i modi e i tempi del conflitto tra i due club alpinistici dell'epoca: la SAT trentina e il DuÖAV austrotedesco.

L'aspetto originario del Rif. Tosa (Riproduzione dal Bollettino SAT 4/2011).

Fu una lite senza esclusione di colpi che si concluse in tribunale e vide infine prevalere il sodalizio trentino. Il testo dell'articolo sarà disponibile a breve nel sito della SAT. Qui mi limito a ricordare l'aspetto attuale del doppio rifugio Tosa e "T. Pedrotti" confrontandolo con il modesto aspetto che l'allora neonato Rifugio Tosa aveva nel 1902, quando venne inaugurato.

Quelle vicende interessarono l'intero ambiente alpinistico europeo, come testimoniano le citazioni del Decarli:

● Scriveva Douglas William Freshfield sul periodico dell'Alpine Club inglese:

"The thanks of explorers of the Trentino Alps are due the society for the erection of a solid hut near the Bocca di Brenta. We cannot help thinking small mountain inns woul be a greater benefit to travellers. The châlets in this region already supply a night shelter near enough to the peaks for most mountaineers, and the discomforts of a hut and châlets are nearly bilance". ● Anche il pittore e alpinista Edward Theodor Compton ebbe parole di ammirazione:

"One more word in praise of the hut near the Bocca di Brenta, the most complete and confortable I ever slept in, saving, perhaps, the Knorrűtte on the Zugspitze. Indeed, I venture to think that Mr. Freshfield, when he visit it,, will allow that this, like the two others built by the young Trentino Club, makes a worthy exception to this remarks" (E.T.Compton, "Expedition in the Brenta Group", The Alpine Journal, Vol. XI, nov. 1883, p. 323)
